SENIOR OFFICE MANAGER 018 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />recommends and administers progressive discipline; conducts and/or facilitates staff <br />training and development programs. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Researches, recommends and implements technical and/or administrative revisions to <br />office systems, procedures and policies; interprets laws, grant requirements, <br />regulations, policies and departmental procedures to the public and other staff. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Assists in preparing and updating division and/or departmental budgets; monitors <br />office expenditures, billings and the transmittal of division funds. May oversee or <br />perform purchasing, accounting, and inventory control functions or systems. <br /> <br /> <br />5.Serves to facilitate discussions between professional/technical and administrative <br />staff in resolving conflicts and maintaining efficient office procedures and systems. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Analyzes and recommends improvements to existing facilities, equipment, data <br />processing resources and operating systems of the division or department. <br /> <br /> <br />7.Performs a variety of complex studies and technical tasks for assigned programs <br />requiring detailed analysis and technical expertise in the area of assignment and <br />independent judgment to complete assignments and reports. <br /> <br /> <br />8.Assists in the development and implementation of division and/or department <br />program goals, objectives, procedures and long range planning. Develops, <br />recommends and implements policies, procedures and office systems. <br /> <br /> <br />9.Researches and remains current on legislation, legal requirements and ordinances <br />affecting unit operations and interprets information to advise staff or subordinates of <br />any applicable changes in procedures to reflect revised legal requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />10.Investigates and directs the resolution for public inquiries, problems or complaints. <br />Responds to the most sensitive, technical or complex inquiries and recommends <br />corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints. <br /> <br /> <br />11.May be required to supervise staff at several different locations requiring the ability <br />to drive personal or county vehicle. Performs other related duties as assigned. <br /> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: <br /> <br />Thorough knowledge of standard office administration practices, procedures and techniques; <br />thorough knowledge of principles and practices of supervision; ability and skill to set work <br />priorities, train, direct, motivate and evaluate the work of assigned staff; knowledge of the <br />fundamental principles and modern practices of office administration including those related to <br />management, personnel, budget analysis, accounting and fiscal practices. <br /> <br />Thorough knowledge of and ability to use business English, including composition, spelling, <br />grammar, punctuation and letter formatting; excellent oral communication skills to work and <br /> <br />
