ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST - DETECTIVE SECTION 014 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />6.Responds to inquiries and gathers information as requested from the public, Sheriff’s <br />Office employees and other law enforcement/governmental employees and applies <br />procedural knowledge to determine appropriate response. <br /> <br /> <br />7.Prepares and maintains detailed case files throughout investigations; prepares and <br />organizes detailed photographs of crime scenes in case file albums. <br /> <br /> <br />8.Develops and maintains section records on vacation leave, work schedules, on-call <br />schedule, and section activities. <br /> <br /> <br />9.Transcribes internal investigations for the Sheriff’s Office, including those performed by <br />Marion County for other agencies throughout the state. <br /> <br /> <br />10.Under the direction of sworn personnel (detective, deputy, etc.) conducts background <br />checks on persons involved with criminal cases to include DMV, LEDS, NCIC, police <br />records systems, OPEN Online, Auto Track, Assessor records, IJIN, and other public <br />information resources; submits reports with the requested information to the <br />investigating/requesting detective/deputy. <br /> <br /> <br />11.Creates photographic lineups from various photographic sources upon request (Lock & <br />Track, DMV photos, etc.) for detectives, patrol deputies and outside law enforcement <br />agencies. <br /> <br /> <br />12.Assists with management of Marion County’s civil forfeiture program and acts as the <br />primary liaison between the Sheriff’s Office and County Counsel. <br /> <br /> <br />13.Coordinates various arrangements and attends hearings or meetings to record official <br />action and significant parts of discussion. <br /> <br /> <br />14.Performs clerical support to the Homicide/Assault Response Team (H.A.R.T.); updates <br />and distributes the phone list and call-out roster. <br /> <br /> <br />15.Assists in reviewing, developing, and maintaining section procedures and functions (case <br />management system, transcription procedures, etc.). <br /> <br /> <br />16.Responsible for importing digital image files into the Sheriff’s Office imaging system; <br />exports digital images to software programs to print the images and burn the image files <br />to CDs and disburses to outside agencies as needed. <br /> <br /> <br />17.Responsible for ordering and maintaining an inventory of the section office and <br />investigative supply needs. <br /> <br /> <br />18.Responsible for maintaining operability of section’s office equipment (copier, printers, <br />fax machine and typewriter); performs routine maintenance tasks; ensures supplies are on <br />hand as needed for proper operation; troubleshoots problems that arise and coordinates <br /> <br />
