Refer to Soil Notes/Field Worksheet for site and system installation details. System plans reflect the stakeout with signed approval dated July 1,2019. Any deviation from the approved plans must be authorized by this office prior to installation or the permit may be voided. It's the responsibility of applicant/installer to coordinate these requirements with all others in OAR 340-071-0220. This permit is for a system designed to serve a single family dwelling with a maximum of 4 bedrooms. Peak sewage flow into the system is limited to a maximum of 450 gallons per day,with an average sewage flow of not more than 225 gallons per day. Premature failure of the treatment system may occur if either of these flow quantities is exceeded. If,for some reason,you expect your domestic household water use may exceed these flows, it is advisable to increase the size of the treatment system. Specific Requirements: EFFLUENT SEWER:The effluent sewer is the pipe from the septic tank to the distribution box. The material required is 3034 or Schedule 40 pipe with 18-gauge minimum green tracer wire or green metallic tape placed along the pipe. The effluent sewer shall extend at least five(5)feet from the tank. There must be a minimum difference of eight(8)inches between the invert(flow line)of the septic tank outlet and the invert of the drop box outlet. In Serial Distribution there must be two(2)inches of fall between the septic tank outlet and the drop box inlet. HEADER PIPE between Distribution Box and drainfield trench must measure a minimum of 4 feet, must be installed level, and bedded on undisturbed earth. TANK RISER: The tank must be installed with watertight risers extending to the ground surface or above. The riser lid must be gasketed and securely fastened. OBSERVE ALL SETBACKS AND SEPARATION DISTANCES as required by the DEQ rules. A copy of the DEQ setback requirements is available in our office and online at http://www.oregon.gov/deq/Residential/Pages/Onsite-Resources.aspx and scroll to Table 1,"Minimum Separation Distances." MAINTAIN PERMANENT ACCESS to septic tank for pumping and service.The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service before sludge and scum accumulations reach 30%of the tank liquid operating volume. Pumping every 3 to 5 years is an average interval. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a system failure. THE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE PROTECTEDfrom any vehicular traffic, livestock and farming activities. Other activities such as excavating or filling,driveway placement, paving or other similar activities that alter the natural soil conditions will adversely affect the soil and the septic system function and lead to premature system failure. The area must not be subjected to excessive saturation due to artificial drainage of ground surfaces,driveways,building downspouts or other sources.
