Septic Authorization 555-20-008467-AUTH Page 2 of 2 Date Issued:4/28/21 Date Expiring:4/28/22 Work Description: FIRE-REPL 2 BDRM SFD WITH 2 BDRM SFD(VACATION HOME) Conditions of Approval: THIS SYSTEM IS AUTHORIZED PER OAR 340-071-0205(4)UNDER NO INCREASE IN FLOW. This authorization is for connecting a house to a system that has a new tank and existing drainfield. Marion County has records for this system,with a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion dated 4/28/2021.The system was located in 2020 after the Beachie Creek Fire.The system plan presented by the homeowner in the application was found to be accurate during the inspections by this office.On 4/27/2021 a new tank was inspected and the Certificate of Satisfactory Completion was issued shortly thereafter. This system consists of a 1000 gallon concrete septic tank and 120 feet of drainfield. There is no increase in flow to the system as there was a 2 bedroom onsite before the fire and will be replaced with a 2 bedroom.This system meets standards set by the DEQ under OAR 340-071-0205(4)authorization rule allowing for connection of a replacement dwelling with no increase in flow.This authorization notice is APPROVED. THE APPROVED SEPTIC SYSTEM AREA MUST BE PROTECTED from any vehicular traffic including construction vehicles, livestock activities.Other activities such as logging,excavating or filling,driveway placement or any similar activities may also damage the soil in the area and adversely affect the septic system approval. The areas of the initial septic system and the future repair system must both be protected. The septic tank should be pumped and inspected by a licensed septic tank pumping service approximately every five(5)years. The septic tank is a reservoir for the solid materials in the sewage waste stream. Excessive accumulation of these solid materials in the septic tank will cause the solids to wash out of the tank and into the drainfield. This will cause irreversible- damage to the drainfield and will eventually lead to a system failure. Note:This Notice does not guarantee satisfactory or continuous operation of the sewage system.Should the system fail,a repair permit from DEQ is required. If you disagree with this report,you have the right to apply for an authorization notice denial review.The application for review must be submitted in writing within 45 days of the report issuance and be accompanied by the review fee in OAR 340-071-0140(3),Table 9C and any additional information DEQ needs to complete the review. You may apply for a variance to the onsite wastewater treatment system rules. The variance application must include a copy of the site evaluation report,plans and specifications for the proposed system,specify the rule(s)to which a variance is being requested,demonstrate the variance is warranted,and include the variance fee in OAR 340-071-140 Table 9C. A variance may only be granted if the variance officer determines that strict compliance with a rule is inappropriate or special physical conditions render strict compliance unreasonable, burdensome or impractical.
