•
Robert Goodwin - 16407 Emerald Green Ln SE 555-21-009752
From: Robert Goodwin
To: caseylundberg@live.com
Date: 12/14/2021 9:57 AM
Subject: 16407 Emerald Green Ln SE 555-21-009752
Attachments: pump calcs guide.pdf;table 1.pdf
Good morning Casey and Jeremy,
The County Surveyor reviewed your proposed easement and determined that no easement is required, as
the two tax lots appear to be one parcel. Before I can issue the permit, the following changes need to be
made to the site plan/materials:
1. The norwesco tanks proposed have a limited approval from the DEQ.They are not approved for the soil
conditions (very high water table)found in the lower part of the site where the tanks are proposed. Please
propose a different tank manufacturer/model. I would speak with your supplier for alternatives, a complete
list of approved tanks can be found here: https://www.oregon.gov/deq/Residential/Pages/Onsite-Approved-
Tanks.aspx
Of tanks I am familiar with, Infiltrator makes tanks that could be used at this site with concrete deadmen but
there may be more, please do not take this as a recommendation of any product.
2. The pressure effluent line appears to be proposed to pass under the foundation of the home.A 5'
minimum setback from the foundation is required, please revise to meet this setback. If the line needs to be
run under the driveway, it will need to be sleeved with a large diameter pipe. OAR 340-071-0220(1) is where
this requirement can be found, see attached table.
3. Please provide head loss calculations to demonstrate the pump proposed is adequate. I ran some quick
calculations myself and the head loss comes out in the upper limits of the pumps operable range (-60 feet
of head or more, depending on fittings used). I am attaching a guide to completing these calculations
manually, there are also online softwares for pump calculations.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Robert Goodwin, REHS
Onsite Wastewater Specialist
Marion County Public Works
PT5G3=566-3g90
E) Rgoodwin@co.marion.or.us
file:///C:/Users/Rgoodwin/AppData/Local/Temp/XPgrpwise/61 B 86A99GWM4M-MCP... 12/14/2021
