NarionAounty Building Inspection Division
00,0N.-
Onsite Septic Review
PUBLIC WORKS
Activity Number: 555-24-002152-EVAL Date: September 9,2024
Project Address: 5989 Hunsaker Rd SE,Turner, OR
092W16D 00100; 110.85 Acres
Completed By: Matt Knudsen, EH-S
ONSITE WASTEWATER TREATMENT SYSTEM SITE EVALUATION
DENIAL
Site Limitations
Relevant site features were evaluated during site visits on April 25, 2024 and on July 16th, 2024. The
conditions observed during the site evaluation indicate that the area where test pits were located does not
meet minimum standards established by the Department of Environmental Quality. The site is denied for
onsite wastewater treatment.
Most sites have some limitations that will affect the location or type of wastewater system that may be
installed; however, this site is not capable of supporting any Standard or Alternative septic system due to the
following limitations:
Permanent water table is 9"-20" below the surface.
DEQ Rule requirement:
Depth of the Permanent Water Table must be at least 48 inches below the absorption trench for a standard
system, and at least 18 inches below the absorption trench for a sand filter or alternative treatment
technology system under OAR 340-071-0220(1)(b) & OAR 340-071-0290(2)(b). The depth to permanent
water table in the area evaluated is 20"below the surface.
Alternatives—Where to Go From Here
As described above, the soil conditions at this site do not qualify for a subsurface treatment system to serve a
single-family dwelling.
The following options are available:
Apply for a holding tank instead of a drainfield. If the property is being used for commercial purposes that
operate with a projected daily sewage flow under 200-gallons, under OAR 340-071-0340(1)(a), a holding
tank is allowed to be installed to serve the facility. A holding tank cannot be used for a residence.
5155 Silverton Road NE—Salem,Oregon 97305—Phone(503)588-5147—Fax(503)588-7948
Page 1 of 3
