While inspecting the system, the <br />following violation was noted which is in conflict with the <br />Department of Environmental Quality On-Site Sewage Disposal <br />Rules. <br /> <br />The house was originally built on Lot 1. Lots 1 and 2 are <br />currently under common ownership. An addition was built onto <br />the north side of the hous~ which extends over the septic <br />tank. The septic tank must be at least five (5) feet outside <br />the foundation of the building. No evidence of failure was <br />found in the drainfield. We have no record of the septic <br />installation for this house. An addition was also built onto <br />the west side of the house which extends onto Lot 2 of this <br />subdivision. This addition extends over a drainfield located <br />on Lot 2 which serves the house located on Lots 3 and 4 <br />(13183 Brookzide Dr. NE). Lots 2,3, and 4 were originally <br />under common ownership. It appears that the ownership of Lot <br />2 has changed and we have no record of any easement which <br />allows the drainfield serving Lots 3 and 4 to be placed on <br />Lot 2. <br /> <br />Since the above violation exists, we cannot approve the existing <br />on-site sewage system. It will be necessary to obtain an on-site <br />sewage repair perm/t and make the necessary corrections before we <br />can approve the sewage system on this property. An easement <br />should also be obtained to legalize the placement of the drain- <br />field on Lot 2 from the adjoining house. <br /> <br />Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 4;30.
