DETROIT BARRACKS SPETIC SYSTRAM DESIGN <br />ENGINEER: JIM BURBY 02-03-87 <br /> <br />PROJECT DESCRiPTiON <br /> <br />THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF TWO FOURPLEX LIVING UNITS, ONE DUPLEX LiViNG UNIT, <br />AND A MESS HALL (EQUIVALENT TO A 20 SEAT RESTAURANT) WHICH COLLECT1VLY <br />GENERATE A DESIGN FLOW OF 5000 GPU OF SEWAGE. <br /> <br />EACH BUILDING IS CONNBCTF~D TO A SEPTIC TA/gK VIA A 4 INCH D1AMETER SEWER <br />LINE. THE EFFLUENT THEN PASSES THROUGH F1LTERS LOCATED iN EACH SEPTIC TANK <br />PRIOR TO BEING CONVEYED TO A SINGLE DOSING TANK VIA 8 INCH DIAMETER CLASS <br />200 PVC COLLECTION LINES. <br /> <br />THE DOSING TANK HOUSES TWO SIPBONS WHICH ALTERNATELY DOSE FOUR DRAIN F1ELDS; <br />ONE PAIR OF DRAIN FIELDS IS DOSED EACH CYCLE. A DOSE OF ROUGHLY 1060 <br />GALLONS (3-5 CYCLES PER DAY) IS CONVEYED TO FLOW SPLITTERS ViA ONE OF TWO 6 <br />1NCR DIAMETER LINES AT A MAXIMUM RATE OF 200 GPM. <br /> <br />THE DOSE IS DIVIDED IN HALF AT A FLOW SPLITTER, AND 2-FOUR iNCH DIAMETER <br />LINES DELIVER THE DOSE TO 10 LATERALS AT EACH DISPOSAL FIELD. EACh TWO 1NCh <br />DIAMETER LATERAL OPERATES AT 10 GPM AND HAS A SERIES OE 1/8 INCH DIAMETER <br />HOLES LOCATED ON ITS TOP SIDE WHICH PASS THE EFFLUENT TO THE DRAIN ROCK IN <br />THE TRENCHES. THE TRENCHES ARE TOPPED WiTH FILTER CLOTH. <br /> <br />THE DESIGN FLOWS ONLY APPROXIMATE REALITY AS MUCH SURGING WILL OCCUR AS A1R <br />BUBBLES ESCAPE FROM THE SYSTEM DURING AN ACTIVE CYCLE. <br /> <br />DESIGN CALCULATIONS <br /> <br />THIS DISPOSAL SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED WiTH THE ASSISTANCE OF BOB FOSTER (}IARiON <br />COUNTY SANITARIAN), GARY MESSER (STATE OF OREGON DEQ), AND HAROLD BALL <br />(ORENCO SYSTEMS, INC.). <br /> <br />FOURPLEX: THERE ARE TWO OF THESE BUILDINGS. <br /> DAILY FLOW 450 GPD X ~ UNITS = 1800 GPD <br /> <br /> MINIMUM WORKING CAPACITY OF TANK = 1125 + (0.75 X 1800) = 2475 GALLONS <br /> USE A 3000 GALLON TANK. <br /> <br />DUPLEX <br /> <br /> DALLY FLOW 450 GPD X 2 UNITS = 900 GPD <br /> <br /> MINIMUM WORKING CAPACITY OF TANK = 900 X 1.5 = 1350 GALLONS. <br /> USE A 1500 GALLON TANK. <br /> <br /> <br />
