6. As the structure sits in the floodway portion of the
floodplain it will be necessary to migrate any reduction in the
floodway section occupied by the building. The average depth at
the four corners of the proposed residence with the occurrence o~
a l~ storm is 0.95 feet. The widest section of the residence is
42 feet with an average depth of water of 0.95 feet the floodway
section is reduced by 39.90 ~eet.

It is recommended to mitigate the loss area by increasing
the floodway section be made adjacent to the existing shallow
ditch North of the house equal to 39.9 square feet parallel to
the house in an East - West direction.

I, Martin G. Boatwright registered professional Engineer No.
4865 in the State of Oregon hereby certify that the water
pressure and buoyancy effects with water at a depth of 0.95 feet
average around the house will not be adversely effected at the
site. Reinforcing steel should be provided as herein recommended
in the footings and stem wall. The loss of 39.9 square feet of
floodway channel capacity needs to be mitigated by excavating a
section equal or larger to increase the floodway section below
the natural ground line parallel to for the full length of the
residence in an East - West direction.

I trust you will find the information and certification
herein acceptable give me a call if you have any questions.

cc.: Larry Koenig,
MGB/mb

Case # 89-.14

Builder

Yours Truly,

~artin ~.
