This review is based on the regulations of the Oregon State <br />Structural Specialty Code (UBC) 1990 Zdition. <br /> <br />This review is not intended to prohibit the building inspector from <br />requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural <br />members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not <br />specifically detailed in the plans and structural calculations is beyond <br />the scope of this review. <br /> <br />Provide a one-hour fire-resistive occupancy separation between the <br />occupancy (area with proposed new floor and interior partition walls) <br />and the M-1 occupancy (the rest of the existing pole building). <br /> <br />The occupancy separation wall between the two different occupancies <br />shall extent to the underside of the roof sheathing. <br /> <br />All openings in the separation wall shall be protected by a fire <br />assembly having a one-hour fire-protection rating. <br /> <br />Accessible underfloer areas shall be provided with at least an 18-inch <br />by 24-inch access crawl hole. Pipes, ducts and other nonstructural <br />construction shall not interfere with the accessibility to or within <br />underfloor areas. (2516(c)2) <br /> <br />Underfloor areas shall be ventilated by an approved mechanical means or <br />by openings in the exterior foundation walls. Such openings shall have <br />a net area of not less than 1 square foot for each 150 square feet of <br />underfloor area. Openings shall be located as close to corners as <br />practicable and shall provide cross ventilation on at least two <br />approximately opposite sides.
