13407 Maple Leaf Ct. NE, Aurora
November 19, 1992
Page 1

Marion County
OR~:GON
] CO M M UoN~IpTAYRTE EM~JLTO PM E N T

Building Inspection - Dwelling Plan Review

The attached plans for the proposed new garage have been reviewed for
compliance with the State of Oregon 1990 Edition One and Two Family Dwelling
Specialty Code.

The structural supports for decks, balconies, porches or similar
structures shall be pressure-treated wood to protect against decay.
(R-308.1)

The garage shall be completely separated from the residence and its
attic area by means of 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent applied to
the garage side. Extend the gypsum up through the attic above the
exterior garage wall with 3 foot wide door or provide gypsum at the
underside of the 4'-6" overhang and the gable end wall above between the
garage attic area and the dwelling.

Appliances generating a glow, spark or flame and all electrical outlets
installed in a garage shall be elevated 15 inches above the floor.
Appliances installed in a garage shall be protected against damage by
vehicles. (M-1114 & NEC Article 500)

The plans indicate that the garage will be provided with a heating
system. The garage must comply with the Residential Energy code.
Attached is a copy of the nine energy path requirements. Path #1 looks
to meet your design the best, but the choice is yours as long as you
completely follow one path. You can not pick requirements from one path
asd mix them with the requirements of another path. Also, see the
attached detail for insulating the concrete slab.

Provide attic ventilation. The net free ventilating area shall be not
less than 1 to 150 of the area of the space ventilated. (R-307)

A readily accessible attic access shall be provided to any attic area
having a clear height of over 30 inches. A framed opening not less than
22 in. by 30 in. is required. (R-708)

Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered
Engineer or Architect. For trusses manufactured by an approved
fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the
construction site for the framing inspection. Ail job site cutting or
modification of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the
engineer's design calculations and drawings. If trusses are to be built
at the job site, submit the engineer's design and construction plans to
the Marion County Building Department prior to start of construction and
have the approved drawings available at the site for the framing
inspection.

The truss drawings submitted with the plans are not stamped by an Oregon
registered Engineer or Architect.

"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans
