The carport does not comply with code <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Our preliminary review of the proposal shows that the <br />posts are too small, the holes for the posts are not deep <br />enough, the diameter of the holes is not large enough and <br />the. Dosts need to be pressure treated not just treated <br />with a preservative product. We need to know what you <br />mean by the term "clipped". If by "clipped", you mean <br />using a hanger for the post to beam connection. Draw a <br />detail showing us how you are using the hanger and qive <br />the model number of the hanger. Provide design calcula- <br />tions for the design of the pole buildin~ (carport). <br /> <br />The design that was submitted does not show how lateral <br />wall bracing is accomplished. Provide design calcula- <br />tions showing compliance with this requirement. <br /> <br />As stated in my letter of October 28, 1992, the carport <br />has some major structural problems and does not comply to <br />code requirements as built nor does the revised design <br />submitted on November 17, 1992. <br /> <br />We need to be notified of the removal of t~is <br />avoid legal action.
