NE, <br />93-01159 (46198) <br />April 7, 1993 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />Building Inspection - Dwelling Plan Review <br /> <br />The attached plans have been reviewed for compliance with the State of Oregon <br />199S Edition One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty Code. <br /> <br />This plan review covers the addition to and/or alteration of an existing <br />structure. This review is not intended to ]prohibit the building inspector <br />from requesting an evaluation of the acceptability of existing structural <br />members that may appear to be unsafe. Existing construction not specifically <br />detailed in the submitted plans and structural calculations is beyond the <br />scope of this review. <br /> <br />The under floor grade shall be cleaned of all vegetation and organic <br />materials. (R-309.3) <br /> <br />Wood joists or the bottom of a wood structural floor closer than <br />18-inches or wood girders closer than 12 inches to exposed ground shall <br />be pressure treated lumber. (R-308.1) <br /> <br />When alterations repairs or additions are made to an existing dwelling, <br />the entire building shall be provided with smoke detectors located as <br />required for new dwellings. (R-215.1) <br /> <br />Energy Path #1 of the Oregon Residential Energy Code is as follows: <br />window class U=0.40; doors, other than main entry U=0.20; main entry <br />door (maximum 24 squ. ft.) U=0.54; wall insulation R-21; underfloor <br />insulation R-25; flat ceilings R=38; vaulted ceilings R=30; skylight <br />class U=0.50; basement walls R-21; slab floor edge insulation R-15; <br />forced air duct insulation <br /> <br />2x6 rafters are indicated on the plans which is acceptable for the span. <br />R-30 insulation is required in the vaulted ceiling area. R-30 <br />insulation requires 9 1/2" to 10" of space depending on the type of <br />insulation. The insualtion can not be compressed into a 5 1/2" space of <br />a 2x6 rafte~. Add spacers which will extend rafter space to 10" <br />minimum. <br /> <br />Approval as a result of this plan review or an inspection shall not be <br />construed to be an approval of a violation of the provisions of the dwelling <br />code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction. Reviews or inspections <br />presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the <br />dwelling code or of other ordinances of the jurisdiction shall not be valid. <br /> <br />sf <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
