There still are structural problems with the design of this building. The carport does not comply with code requirements. Our preliminary review of the proposal shows that the posts are too small, the holes for the posts are not deep enough, the diameter of the holes is not large enough and the.posts need to be pressure treated not just treated with a preservative product. We need to know what you mean by the term "clipped". If by "clipped", you mean using a hanger for the post to beam connection. Draw a detail showing us how you are using the hanger and give the model number of the hanger. Provide design calcula- tions for the design of the pole building (carport). The design that was submitted does not show how lateral wall bracing is accomplished. Provide design calcula- tions showing compliance with this requirement. As stated in my letter of October 28, 1992, the carport has some major structural problems and does not comply to code requirements as built nor does the revised design submitted on November 17, 1992.
