Lit signs shall be <br />internally or externally illuminated with two electric lamps or shall be <br />of an approved self-luminous type. Current supply to one of the lamps <br />for exit signs shall be provided by the premises' wiring system. Power <br />to the other lamp shall be from storage batteries er an on-site <br />generator set. (Sec. 3314 (c} & (d)) <br /> <br />Portable fire extinguisher shall be provided and £nstalled as required <br />by applicable standards and as directed by the authority having <br />jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Attic areas are to be provided with draft stops to subdivide the space <br />into areas not to exceed 3,000 sq. ft. and the greatest horizontal <br />dimension shall not exceed 60 feet. Sec. 2516(f). <br /> <br />The exterior building envelope, heating, ventilating, air conditioning <br />and service water heating systems shall comply with Chapter 53, Energy <br />conservation. Submit certification of conformance by an Oregon <br />registered architect or engineer. (5301(c)) <br /> <br />The roof cove~ing shall be a class A or Class B roofing. The <br />roof-cove~ing assembly includes the roof deck, underlaymen~, <br />interlayment, insulation and covering which is assigned a roof-covering <br />classification. Mechanical systems, when installed, are required to be in <br />compliance with applicable codes. <br /> <br />Heating, cooking, air conditioning and similar service equipment are <br />required to be approved and listed by a nationally recognized testing <br />agency, such as Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., and to be installed in <br />compliance with the agency's specifications and recognized safe <br />practices. The installation of ventilation systems is required to be in <br />substantial compliance with the 1990 Mechanical Specialty code. <br /> <br />Exhaust hood(s) meeting the requirements of Chapter 20 of the Mechanical <br />Code shall be installed. <br /> <br />A Type I exhaust system hood is required for collecting and removing <br />grease and smoke above all deep fat fryers, b~oilers, fry grills, <br />hot-top ranges barbecues and similar equipment. U.M.C. Sec. 2003. <br /> <br />An automatic fire extinguishing system is required in commercial type <br />cooking equipment, from which grease-laden vapors emanate in normal <br />cooking operation. U.M.C. Sec. 2004(b). <br /> <br />The design of the roof trusses was not submitted with the plans and is <br />not included in this plan review. Roof trusses are required to be <br />designed by an Oregon registered engineer or architect. When the truss <br />supplier is selected, submit the structural drawings and design <br />calculations for review. <br /> <br />Overflow drains having the same size as the roof drains shall be <br />installed with the inlet flow line located 2 inches above the low point <br />of the roof, or overflow scuppers having three times the size of the <br /> <br /> <br />
