S.E.~ Aumsville <br />93-02632 / 9048798 <br />August 11, 1993 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />Marion County <br /> <br /> OREGON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br /> Building I~pec~ion - Dwelling Plan Review <br /> <br />The attached plans have been reviewed for compliance with the State of Oregon <br />1993 Edition One and Two Family Dwelling Specialty Code. <br /> <br /> 1. Approved numbers or addresses shall be placed on all buildings in such a <br /> position as to be plainly visible and legible from the street or road <br /> fronting the property. (UFC 10.208) <br /> <br />2. The grade away from foundation walls shall fall a minimum of 6 in. <br /> within the first 10 ft., except as restricted by lot lines where the <br /> fall will be a minimum of 6 in. regardless of the horizontal distance <br /> available. (R-301.3) <br /> <br />3. Footings shall e~tend not less than 12 in. below the finish natural <br /> grade+ (R-303) <br /> <br /> 4. The structural supports for decks, balconies, porches or similar <br /> structures shall be pressure-treated wood to protect against decay. <br /> (R-309.1) <br /> <br /> Provid~ at least 1 square foot of underfloor ventilation for each 150 <br /> square feet of crawl space area. The openings shall be covered with a <br /> corrosion resistant wire mesh. At least one such opening shall be <br /> provided within 3 feet of each corner of the building. (R-311.1) <br /> <br /> 6. Provide an access crawl hole to the underfloor space. The minimum size <br /> opening required is 18 inches by 24 inches. (R-311.2) <br /> <br /> 7. Stairways shall not be less than 3 feet in clear width and the headroom <br /> shall not be less than 6 feet 8 inches. The minimum required stair <br /> tread width is 9 inches. The maximum stair rise is 8 1/4 inches. When <br /> risers are closed, all treads may have a uniform p~ojeetion not to <br /> exceed 1 1/2 inches. The greatest riser height shall not exceed the <br /> smallest by more than 3/8 inch. (R-213.1) <br /> <br /> 8. Handrails meeting the following requirements shall be provided on at <br /> least one side of stairways. The handgrip portion of handrails shall be <br /> not more than 2 5/8 inches in cross-sectional dimension, or the shape <br /> shall provide an equivalent gripping surface. Handrails shall be <br /> mounted between a minimum of 30 inches and a maximum of 38 inches. They <br /> shall be continuous the full length of the stairs. Ends shall be <br /> returned or shall terminate in newel posts or safety terminals. <br /> (R-214.1) <br /> <br />9. A guardrail or wall shall be provided around stairway opening on the <br /> second floor. Required guardrail shall have intermediate rails or <br /> o~namental closures which will not allow passage of an object 6 in. or <br /> more in diameter. Horizontal spacing between the vertical members in <br /> <br />"APPROVED" only when this sheet is attached to plans <br /> <br /> <br />
