11769 Warbler Lane NE, Aurora <br />93-02490 <br />October 1, 1993 <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />Marion County <br /> <br /> OREGON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />~)EPARTM[NT <br /> <br />Building Inspection - Dwelling Plan Review <br /> <br />In response to your letter received September 15, 1993 and your proposal in <br />which you refer to the type of structure as a lean-to design is NOT ACCEPTABLE <br />as it does not comply with code and design requirements for this type of <br />structure. Revise your plans or design showing compliance with code <br />requirements and resubmit for review. <br /> <br />The proposed structure does not comply with conventional framing methods <br />outlined in the code and does not provide any lateral wall bracing as <br />required to resist lateral wind pressures, uplift and bending stress <br />caused by the wind load. <br /> <br />The metal roof structure which is proposed on the roof framing is a <br />listed product that if installed per the listing and attached to an <br />existing structure which will provide some lateral wall bracing. When <br />the structure is not installed per the manufacturer's installation <br />instructions, the listing is void and not approved. <br /> <br />When a proposed structure does not comply with code requirements, the <br />applicant may design or hire someone to design his proposed structure. <br />The person designing the building is responsible to provide sufficient <br />information (plans and design calculations) to the building department <br />which show that the design complies with all building code requirements. <br /> <br />Exterior and foundation wall panels of frame construction shall be <br />braced with approved structural sheathing or 1-inch by 4-inch let in <br />braces. Structural sheathing and 1-inch by 4-inch let-in braces shall be <br />installed as per Table No. R-402.10, see the top of the next page for a <br />copy of this table.
