~r. Akaty Konev
Page 2
June I~. 1979

The soil Series In the proposed dralnfleld area molt nearly
resembles an Aloha Slit Loam, Past experleuce has shown
that these suits respond favorably to artlficlal drainage
by field tiling, During the field review of the property.
no indication of a restrlctlve layer was encountered which
would adversely affect the functioning of a tiling system,

There are no public waters of the State nor sources of
domestic water supply iooated In the }mmedlate vicinity of
the proposed dralnfleld area,

To overcome the temporarily perched ground water conditions
on the property, the following site and system design modi-
fications were offere~ In support of the varlance~

The development on the property Nlll be restricted to
a single family residence having a maximum dally sewage
flow of ~50 gallons or less,

A ground water drainage system will be Installed around
the perimeter of the drainfleld to artificially lower
the temporarily perched ground waters during Inclement
weather.

To further ensure that the disposal trenches wl)l not
likely come tn contact with the temporarily perched
groun~ waters, a 12-Inch capping fill system will be
~onStructed. The original disposal treohes will be
installed Only 12 inches deep into the original sol1
and then a 12-inch gap of earth wti! be filled over the
complete syste~.

Based upon my review of the property and the testimony ¢ontalned In
the record, it Is my opinion that a health hazard or degradation of
public ~aters would not likely occur by approvlng your variance
request. AS such, your request for'variance from Oregon Admlnls~rat
Rules, Chapter 3~O, Dlvislon 7, Sections 71-0ZO(~)(¢)~ 71-O20(~)(s)~
71-030(I)(d)i and 71-030(k)(f)(F) is granted subject tO the fellowln
condltions~
