Details of the procedure will be burnished upon request. Western Electro-Acoustic Laboratory is
accredited by the United States Department of Commerce,National Institute of Standards and Technology under the
National Voluntary Accreditation Program(NVLAP)for this test procedure. The mart l cturer's description of the specimen was
as follows:
The FASWALL insulating permanent concrete forms(ICF)were manufactured in a block making machine
using the K-X mineral processed wood fiber chips(K-X Aggregate)mixed with cement and fly ash. The wall J
forms(WF)had male-female interlocking sections on the sides.
The specimen was constructed in the laboratory on a reinforced pallet to allow installation and removal from
the test chamber. The wall forms(WF)were stacked dry without staggering them and no mortar was used.
The WF were filled with dense concrete that was mixed in a concrete mixer and poured into the cores with
buckets. The concrete was allowed to cure for approximately 72 hours before testing. The overall dimensions
of the sample were 48 inches(1.22 m)wide by 72.5 inches(1.84 in)high by 11.5 inches(.292 m)thick. The
area used in the calculation included both sides, both ends, and the top of the specimen. All gaps and spaces in
the pallet wereTdled with concrete and 2"x 6"wood studs were used around the perimeter of the pallet to seal
it to the floor of the chamber. The overall weight of the specimen was estimated to be 1885 lbs. (855 kg)based
on 781bs./ft2(1249 kg/rnr).
TEST RESULTS
Area Tested: 59.91 sq.& Mounting:Free Standing
1/3 Octave Band Center Frequency(Hz)
125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 NRC
Sound Absorption(Sabin) 15.7 23.2 45.9 55.9 52.7 55.1
Sound Absorption Coefficient .26 .39 .77 .93 .88 . .92 .70
95%Confidence .08 .05 .07 .06 .04 .04
Respectfully submitted,
Western Electro-Acoustic Laboratory,Inc.
iffitn
nang
Gary E. e
/.CCREOREO Sv TAR LA00 LixsrllVTE OF 6T WAos RkMlFOR SEL CTED TES -
Ifs. V%UUL=J rfJ =ND VCLNNTpilytx, pTOflYRCCR g,TDONars AND WR SELECIERTEST METgp$Fgp ACOUSTICS
