Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY D£VELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT

DIRECTOR
Craig 0 Luedeman

p~NNING

~ O~

sept~er 16, 1991

MEMORANDUM

TO: ROBF~RT A~D CHRISTINE BAKER
9263 PORTER ROAD S~
AUMSVIL~, ORE&~O N 9?325

FROM: LEE A. GRIM~.S, MARION COUNTY, BUILDING INSPECTIONS

SUBJECT: EXISTING SEPTIC SYSTEM REVIEW, FOR TF2MPORARY
HARDSHIP MOBIL HO~, T.PS, R.2W~ SECTION 01

I stopped by this property 9/11/91 to review the septic
system in conjunction with proposed service to the tempo-
rary hardshiD mobil home. The best I can determine from
our records, ks that the system was ~onstructed 5/26/69
(permit 69-74) and con~ists of a 1000 gallon septic tank
and two 100 feet long drain£ield lines.

I found the top of a septic tank exposed to the ground
surface just south cf the existing mobil home. A diagram
in our records indicates that the ~Lralnfield lines spread
out from the distribution box to about 70 feet apart at
the end of the lines. AS such, the mobil might be sited
less than the required ten feet separation from the
existing drainfield line. It appears that there is enough
space to reconstruct the drainfield should the system
fail for some non-repairable reason, Bo we would not ask
~hat the mobil be relocated to comply with the setback
requirement at this time. if you choee to re-site the
mobil for some other reason it must meet the minimum
setback distance and not encumber the re~air area.

with acknowledgement of the above information, our office
is willing to allow connection to the existing system on
a trial basis. If the ~eptic tank has not been recently
Dumped, it should be pumped and then serviced c~ a regu-
lar 4 to ~ year schedule~ Contact our office, if you have
ue~ti~ns. ·

LEE A- GRIF~ES
S0IL SCIENTIST

Senator Building 220 High Skeet NE - Salem, Oregon 97301-3670
