Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT

March 7, 1990

Mr. Clyde Stanley
9119 Stayton Road SE
T~rner, Oregon

Dear Mr. Stanley:

At your request, a reinspection of your property was
made on February 23 and 27, 1990 to determine the
actual water level on your property located at 6108
Stayton Road SE, Turner. The purpose of the inspection
was to determine if any type of septic system, other
than a Sand Filter, could be approved on the property.

The results of those inspections indicate that the sand
filter approval was appropriate for the soil conditions
that exist on the property, permanent water table
levels were observed on the 23rd at twenty-eight (28)
inches to thirty-six (36) inches below the surface of
the ground. There were indications in the front three
test holes that the water levels had been as shallow as
thirty-two (32) inches- Observations on the 2?th showed
the water table varying from thirty-five (35) inches to
forty-three {43) inches below the surface. The DEQ
rules require that "A permanent water table shall be
four (4) feet or more from the bottom of the ab~orption
facility" for a standard septic system. This would
require that a permanent water table be a minimum of
sixty-six (66) inches for a standard system or sixty
(60) inches for a capping fill system.

Since the water table levels mentioned above do meet
the criteria for a Sand Filter Alternative System, the
property iS approved for installation of a sand filter
system as indicated on our report of May 22, 1989.

Please call our office if you have any questions. Our
office ho%~rshare 8:00 to 4:30, Monday through F£iday.

RRGIST~R~D SANITARIAN

DONALD WOODLE¥
BUILDING OFFICIAL

~enator Buildin8 220 High Street NE Salern, Om'go~'~ 97301-3670
