Marion County

OREGON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
D£PARTMENT

10/22/91

JoHN W. ELDEN
401 NE 29TH CT.
GRESHAM, OREGON

97342

SUBJ:

SITE EVALUATION FOR SUBSURFACE SEWAGE DISPOSAL
300 LAKECREST DRIVE, T.10S, R. SE, SECT, 10
SITE ~ 14469, APPLICATION ~ 9035882

I stopped by this property while working in the area to
check the site for possible onsite subsurface sewage
disposal. It appears that locating the appropriate drain-
fields will be difficult because of existing excavation
for the previous building site. Drainfield lines can only
be constructed in the natural undisturbed topsoil. I
expect that you plan to site the drainfields upslope of
the proposed building site which might pose a problem. If
the drainlines are upslope of the existing excavation a
tWenty-five feet separation is required between the
lowest drainfield line and the downsl0pe cutbank. My
preliminary review leads me to believe that there is not
enough area to site a primary and the necessary backup
(replacement) drainfield.

At this point I suggest that you stake :out the proposed
construction to verify whether or not there is enough
space for the planned development. If it appears there is
area, go ahead and dig the soil test pits within the
drainfield areas and let us know when the pits are dug.

Call, if you have any questions.
office between 8 and 10 AM.

.SOIL SCIENTIST

I am usually in the

DON WOODLEY
BUILDING OFFICIAL

Senator Building 220 High Street NE Salem, Oregon 97301-3670
