Insure that <br /> all detailed construction requirements shown on the plans <br /> are followed. <br />14. SAFETY GLAZING / AT DOOR. The following shall be considered <br /> specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing: <br /> Glazing. in an individual fixed or operable panel <br /> adjacent to a door where the nearest vertical edge is <br /> within a 24 inch arc of the door in a closed position <br /> and whose bottom edge is less than ~0 inches above <br /> the floor or walking surface. Exception: Safety <br /> glazing is not requzred when there [s an intervening <br /> wall or other permanent barrier between the door an8 <br /> the glazing. <br />15. EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window <br /> or exterior door approved for emergency e~ress or' rescue. <br /> The window sill height shall not be More ~han 44 inches <br /> above the floor. The Minimum net clear' openinq is 5.7 seuare <br /> fee~. The Minimum net clear opening height s~all be 22' <br /> inches. The MinimUM net clear opening width shall be 28 <br /> inches. Exception: Grade floor windows May have a Minimum <br /> net clear opening of 5 square feet. [Sec. 310.2, 310.2.1] <br />1~. SHOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> additions are Made to an existing dwelling, the entire <br /> buildin~ shall he provided with smoke detectors located as <br /> require~ for new dwellings. The smoke detectors are not <br /> r~quired to be interconnected unless other remodeling con- <br /> siderations require removal of the appropriate wall and <br /> ceiling coverir~s to facilitate interconnecting wiring. <br /> [Section 31~.1.[] <br />17. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleepin~ room, <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area in the iMMeOiate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> dwelling including basements. All detectors shall be inter- <br /> connected such that the actuation of one alarm will actuate <br /> all the alarms in the individual unit and shall provide an <br /> alarm which will be audible in all sleepino areas. <br /> [Section ~16.1] SMoke detectors shall be ~10 Volt with <br /> bat~er back-up. [Sec. 31~.2] <br />18. SMOKE ~ETECI'OR / <br /> POWER. <br /> Required smoke detectors shall <br /> receive their priMarX ~ower from the building wiring when <br /> such wiring is serve~ from a commercial source~ and when <br /> ~riMary power is interrupted, shall receive power from a <br /> artery. SMoke detectors May be battery operated when <br /> installed in buildings without commercial power.[Sec. ~1~.2] <br /> <br /> <br />
