AUMSVILLE, OR 97325 Your site has been found suitable for a SAND FILTER ALTERNATIVE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM. The following construction specifications shall apply to the installation of your septic system. 1. The septic tank shall have a minimum liquid capacity of 1000 gallons. 2. The projected daily sewage flow for this project is calculated at 450 allons er da . Based on soil conditions observed on this site, the disposal field will be sized at 50 lineal feet ~er 150 callons of projected daily sewage flow. A minimum of 150 lineal feet of disposal field will be required for your proposed develop- ment. The disposal trenches are constructed two (2) feet wide and on minimum ten (10) foot centers and with no line exceeding 125 feet in length. The trenches and perforated pipe are installed level (±1") and contoured to follow the natural ground surface. The disposal field shall be constructed with e___cual distribution with a minimum trench depth of 18 inches and a maximum trench depth of 18 inches. There must be at least 6 inches of backfill over the top of the gravel, measured from the natural ground surface. The sand filter system shall be designed and operated as per OAR 340-71-290 through 340-71-305. Detailed plans for the system must be submitted prior to permit issuance. A building permit is required if a site built concrete box is used as the sand filter container. A pamphlet is available in our office which details the requirements for a sand filter system. This approval is site specific to the area tested and the septic system must be located in the immediate area of the test pits unless otherwise autho- rized by this office. A new site evaluation may be required if the system is proposed for a different area on the property. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The sand filter drainfields must be installed within the immediate area of the new test pits. The existing septic tank must be pumped and properly abandoned and the well abandoned in compliance with the Water Resources Standards including the certificate. The sand filter system consideration is contingent upon the tank and well abandonment. A pre~ permit field stakeout will be necessary to establish the locations and elevations of the individual drainfield lines. The sand filter will probably need to be raised to achieve gravity flow into the shallow drainfield lines. Refer to the stakeout procedure and the setback list for details to complete the stakeout. New well construction should be deferred pending the stakeout review. Dry-soil summer season installa- tion is recommended, use care not to alter the natural topsoil within the drainfield area. THIS IS NOT A PERMIT TO INSTALL THE SEPTIC SYSTEM. DO NOT INSTALL THE SYSTEM UNTIL A VALID P~EMIT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THIS OFFICE.
