Balkema TAX ACCOUNT: 1 61597-000 <br /> <br />3. Description of farm operation: <br /> <br /> We operate an Arabian horse breeding farm dba Jena-Tone Arabians. At present we own <br />8 purebred Arabian horses. The acreage is utilized mainly for pasture and riding area. Farm labor <br />is supplied by family members. Income is sporadic and dependent upon the sale of horses, with <br />additional income possible fxom the sale of breedings to our stallion. <br /> <br />4. Description of use of and/or commodities stored in the proposed structure' <br /> <br /> Presently we have a 42 ff by 42 it ham containing 6 stalls, which is inadequate to house <br />our current 8 horses much less accommodate any additional foals that may be bom in the future <br />or any mares which may need access to our stallion for breeding purposes. We propose an <br />addition 42 ft wide by 24 it long to the south end of the existing barn, which would create 4 <br />additional stalls and give us the capacity to house our current 8 horses adequately with 2 extra <br />stalls available as and when needed. We also propose a 18 feet deep by 81.5 feet wide structure <br />for the purpose of Hay storage, sawdust storage, a tack and feed room, and a wash rack/ <br />grooming room. Attached to the south side of the expanded barn (42 it wide by 66 it long), we <br />propose adding a 60 it wide by 120 it long arena to be used for training, exercising, and riding <br />horses, this area will also be used periodically to show our horses to invited prospective buyers. <br /> <br />5. Wire,t is the. size of the proposed building? <br /> <br /> The existing barn is 42 it long by 42 it wide (1,764 sq it in area). The proposed addition <br />to the south of the existing barn is 42 it wide by 24 ft long (1,008 sq it). This portion of the barn <br />has/will have 10 it eaves. The proposed addition to the west side of the additional stalls is 81.5 it <br />wide by 18 it deep (1,467 sq it) and will have 12 it eaves. Wood shaving storage, Tack room, <br />and wash rack will all utilize 216 sq ft each for a total of 648 sq. it., with the remaining 819 sq it <br />reserved for hay storage. The expanded barn will be 42 it wide by 66 it long and 18 it by 81.5 it <br />(4,239 sq. it). Attached to the south end of the expanded barn will be the arena, 60 it long by 120 <br />it wide (7,200 sq it) with 14 it eaves. When completed, the combined barn with arena will be <br />11,439 sq it. <br /> <br /> <br />
