An uncoated No. 4 reinforcing bar stubbed up at least 12 inches above the floor plate line and <br />tightly attached to the reinforcing bar located in the footing. The spliced lap of the stubbed up bar <br />to the footing bar shall be a minim~l of 12 inches. <br /> <br />EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one opensble window or exterior door approved for <br />emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be mere than 44 inches above the floor. The <br />minimum net cleat opening is 5.3' square feet. The minlm~un net clear opening height shall be 22 Laches. <br />The minimum net clear opening width shall he 20 il~hes. Exception: Grade floor windows may have a <br />l~inimum net clear opening ors square feet. <br /> <br />THE GARAGE shall be separated from the dwelling and its attic area by means of 1/2-inch gypsum board <br />.applied to the garage side of the wall. Where the separation is a floor-ceiling assembly, the sU'ucture <br />supporting the separation shall be protected by 1/2-inch gypsum board or equivalent. The door between the <br />garage and residence shall be equipped with solid wood doors not less than 1 3/8 inches in thickness or 20- <br />minute fire rated, or equivalent. <br /> <br />SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the <br />immediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the dwelling including basements. All <br />detectors shall he interconnected such that the actuation of one ala~a will actuate all the alarms in the <br />individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall <br />be 110 volt with battey back-up. <br /> <br />SMOKE DETECTOIUPOWER. Required smoke detectors shall receive their' primary power from the <br />building wiring when such wiring is served from a commercial source, and when primary power is inter- <br />rupted, shall receive power from a battery. Smoke detectors may be battery operated when installed in <br />bRilrlln~s without commercial power. <br /> <br />FIRESTOPPING shall be provided in the following locations: <br /> 1) in concealed SliCes of stud walls, ~l'0ding fu~ed spaces not to exceed 10 feet horizonvally, <br /> and at the ceilin~ and floor level. <br /> 2) At all iaterconnections between concealed vertical and horizontal spaces such as occur at soffits, <br /> ditop or cove c~ilin~s, ete. <br /> 3) In concealed spaces between stair stringers at the top and bottom of the nm and wall cavities in <br /> line with the sUingers; <br /> 4) At openings arollnd vents, pipes, ducts, ehlmneys and fireplaces at ceiling and floor level, with <br /> noncombustible materials. <br /> <br />HEATING AND COOLING appliances located in a garage shall be protected from impact by automobiles. <br />Appliances that generate a glow, spark or flame capable of igniting gasoline vapors located in a garage shall <br />be installed with burners, burner ignition devices or beating elements and switebes at least 18 inches above <br />the floor level. <br /> <br />WATER HEATERS shall be anchored or strapped to the building tO resist horizontal displacement due to <br />earthquake motion. - <br /> <br />TRUSS DESIGN. Roof trusses are required to be designed by an Oregon registered Engineer or Architect. <br />For U-usses manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at <br />the construction site for the framing i~pection.
