ENG, This structure uses an Engineered Design to meet the lateral wall bracing requirements of the code. Insure that all detailed construction requirements sho~cn on the plans are followed. 5, TRUSS DESIGN. Roof trusses are required to be be designed by an Oregon registered Engineer or Architect, For trusses manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the design and layout drawings available at the construction site for the framing inspection. All jobsite cutting or modifications of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in the engineer's design calculations and drawings. 6, SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or additions requiring a permit occur, or v/hen sleeping rooms are added or created, the entire building shall be provided with smoke detectors located as required for new dwellings; the smoke detectors shall be interconnected and hard wired, EXCEPTION: Detectors shall not be required to be inter- connected and hard wired where the alterations, repairs, or additions do not result in the exposure of electrical wiring by the removal of interior wall and ceiling finishes. [Sec. 316.1.1] 7. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room, outside of each separate sleeping area in the inmediate vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the dwelling including basements, All detectors located outside sleeping rooms shall be interconnected such that the actuation of one alarm will actuate these alarms in the individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be audible in all sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall be 110 volt with batter back-up. [Sec, 216.1] 8. SMOKE DETECTOR / POWER, In new construction, the required smoke detectors shall receive their primary power from the building wiring when such wiring is served from a commercial source, and when primary power is interrupted, shall receive power from a battery. Wiring shall be permanent and not switched. Smoke detectors shall be permitted to be battery operated when installed in existing buildings without commercial power or in buildings which undergo alterations, repairs or additions regulated by Section 316.11 [Sec, 316.2] 9. 1HE STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS for decks, balconies, porches or similar structures shall be pressure-treated wood to protect against decay. [Sec. 222,1]
