Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions <br /> or oversights by this office or of noncompliance with any <br /> applicable regulations of local government. <br />4. ENG, This structure uses an Engineered Design to meet the <br /> lateral wall bracing requirements of the code. Insure that <br /> all detailed construction requirements sho~cn on the plans <br /> are followed. <br />5, TRUSS DESIGN. Roof trusses are required to be be designed by <br /> an Oregon registered Engineer or Architect, For trusses <br /> manufactured by an approved fabrication plant, have the <br /> design and layout drawings available at the construction <br /> site for the framing inspection. All jobsite cutting or <br /> modifications of the roof trusses shall be clearly shown in <br /> the engineer's design calculations and drawings. <br />6, SMOKE DETECTORS / ALTERATIONS. When alterations, repairs or <br /> additions requiring a permit occur, or v/hen sleeping rooms <br /> are added or created, the entire building shall be provided <br /> with smoke detectors located as required for new dwellings; <br /> the smoke detectors shall be interconnected and hard wired, <br /> EXCEPTION: Detectors shall not be required to be inter- <br /> connected and hard wired where the alterations, repairs, or <br /> additions do not result in the exposure of electrical wiring <br /> by the removal of interior wall and ceiling finishes. <br /> [Sec. 316.1.1] <br />7. SMOKE DETECTORS shall be installed in each sleeping room, <br /> outside of each separate sleeping area in the inmediate <br /> vicinity of the bedrooms and on each additional story of the <br /> dwelling including basements, All detectors located outside <br /> sleeping rooms shall be interconnected such that the <br /> actuation of one alarm will actuate these alarms in the <br /> individual unit and shall provide an alarm which will be <br /> audible in all sleeping areas. Smoke detectors shall be <br /> 110 volt with batter back-up. [Sec, 216.1] <br />8. SMOKE DETECTOR / POWER, In new construction, the required <br /> smoke detectors shall receive their primary power from the <br /> building wiring when such wiring is served from a commercial <br /> source, and when primary power is interrupted, shall receive <br /> power from a battery. Wiring shall be permanent and not <br /> switched. Smoke detectors shall be permitted to be battery <br /> operated when installed in existing buildings without <br /> commercial power or in buildings which undergo alterations, <br /> repairs or additions regulated by Section 316.11 <br /> [Sec, 316.2] <br />9. 1HE STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS for decks, balconies, porches or <br /> similar structures shall be pressure-treated wood to protect <br /> against decay.
