Dan indicated in
his phone message to me that the D.E.Q. is requesting additional information
concerning the site conditions on the property before they will consider issuing a
permit for sewage disposal on this site.

The soil conditions found in the test pits dug on the site meet the requirements and
are acceptable for an Alternative Sand Filter System. Section 340-71-130 (15) of
the D.E.Q. roles requires that any commercial facility utilizing a conventional
sand filter or recirculating gravel filter must obtain a renewable WPCF permit
from the Department to construct and operate the system.

If you or your consultant have any additional questions, please feel free to contact
our office. I am normally available during the morning hours from 8:00 to 10:00.

REGISTERED SANITARIAN

DONALD WOODLEY
BUILDING OFFICIAL

copy: Dan Bush, Oregon Field Services, Inc.

Community Development Center · 285 Church Street N.E., Room 132 · Salem, Oregon 97301-3670
