Approval of submitted plans is not an approval of omissions or oversights by this office or of noncompliance with any applicable regulations of local government. 4, UNDERFLOOR VENTILATION. Provide at least one square foot of underfloor ventilation for each 1500 square feet of crawl space area, The openings shall be covered with a corrosion resistant wire mesh. At least one such opening shall be provided within 3 feet of each corner of the building. Vents may be omitted on one side. [Sec. 409,1] 5, EVERY SLEEPING ROOM shall have at least one openable window or exterior door approved for emergency egress or rescue. The window sill height shall not be more than 44 inches above the floor. The minimum net clear opening is 5.7 square feet, The minimum net clear opening height shall be 22 inches. The minimum net clear opening width shall be 20 inches, Exception: Grade floor windows may have a minimum net clear opening of 5 square feet. [Sec, 310.2, 310.2,1] 6. SAFEI~ GLAZING / AT DOOR. The following shall be considered specific hazardous locations for the purposes of glazing: Glazing, in an individual fixed or operable panel adjacent to a door where the nearest vertical edge is within a 24 inch arc of the door in a closed position and whose bottom edge is less than 60 inches above the floor or walking surface, Exception: Safety glazing is not required when there is an intervening wall or other permanent barrier between the door and the glazing, 7. STAIRWAYS shall not be less than 36 inches in clear width at all points between the handrail height and the required minimum headroom of 6 feet 8 inches, Minimum width from the handrail down is 32 inches with one handrail, 28 inches with two. The minimum r~quired stair tread width is 9 inches. The maximum stair rise is B inches. When risers are closed, all treads less than 10 inches shall have a uniform nosing betweem 3/4 inches and i 1/4 inches. GUARDRAILS, Porches, balconies or raised floor surfaces located more than 30 inches above the floor or grade shall have guardrails not less than 36 inches in height. Required guardrail shall have intermediate rails or ornamental closures which do not allow passage of an object 4 inches or more in diameter, Horizontal spacing between the vertical members in required gurardrails shall be a maximum of 4 inches at the nearest point between the members, [Sec, 315,3: 315.4] 9. GUARDRAIL ON STAIRS. Open sides of stairs with a total rise of more than 30 inches above the floor or grade below shall have guardrails not less than 34 inches in height measured vertically from the nosing of the treads. Guardrail shall have intermediate rails or ornamental closures which do not allow passage of an object 5 inches or more in diameter, Horizontal spacing between the vertical members in required
