I
,. c~
Dear Leonard,
As we are all aware, the County and Transit District Boards have formally acted to proceed
with the Courthouse Square project, through the point of design development and cost
estimation for the project. Depending on the results of design development and cost
estimation, a decision will be reached by the two bodies as to whether or not to proceed
further, to construction documents and bidding.
Based on the action taken by our Boards, we have asked Arbuckle Costic Architects, Inc. to
move ahead with the next steps of design work, consistent with their direction. This letter
serves to formally confirm our direction to complete any needed elements of schematic design
and proceed ahead to design development and cost estimation, in accordance with the
provisions of the agreements which have been reached to guide this project (the interim
agreement, the addendum to the interim agreement, the AIA contract, the supplemental
provisions of the AIA contract, and the Federal contract requirements).
On behalf of the District and the County, we are looking forward to working with you and
your firm to complete theses next stages of work.
Sincerely,
Whittington
Project Coordinator
Salem Transit District
~
Billy asson
Project Coordinator
Marion County
cc Nick Hockens, FTA
