~
Rich Wessell
Re: Courthouse Square
Project No. 9828
February 9, 1999
Marion County and Salem Area Mass Transit Distrid will be required to submit a lette~, in
lieu of an Improvement Agreement, undertaking to complete the Public Works and Public
Construction required for the project.
Public Construction:
A separate permit is required in order to complete the public construdion, which includes
all of the 'Streetscape" elements except weather protection.
In terms of overail scheduling, we now understand that the public construction of the
Chemeketa Steel Sa~(tary Sewer Alignment. may be broken out from the rest of the worlc,
allowing work on this element to proceed in advance of the balance of the project. This
worlc must be completed p~ior to commencing removal of the utilities in the vacated alley
running through the middle of the site.
R1~ht-of-War Encroachment Revocable Petmits:
Revocable petmit applications to permit the Bay Windows, Water Service Room, and Oil
and Wate~ Separator in the Court Street right-of-way have been submitted and we
, understand these will be processed within the next two weeks. ~
Conclusion:
The above list is a current list of permitting requirements for the project, as far as we are
aware. Additional permits and certification will be procu~ed by either the Contrador or his
subc:oMractors to complete various parts of the work.
Should you have any questions, please call.
Sincer y,
Leona Lodder, A.I.A.
Architect
LL:~d
cc: Jo ' in ton, Project Coordinator, Salem Transit District.
9828.3A
LJ
