In it you requested design information for the
transfoRner vault room. We note that the requested infoRnation is contained in the complete set of
construction documents pricked up from our office on January 21, 1999.
Please note the following:
1. The vault room plan and profile are shown specifically on the following sheets:
A2.2.3, A3.2.1 on cross Section 2, A3.3.2 Section 2, A6.2.3, as well as on
Mechanical a~d Electrical Drawings.
2. Oil containment is provided by setting the transformer on a housekeeping pad, and
providing curbs at the man door as well as the overhead door. An oil sump pit is
located just to the southeast of the overhead door.
3. Interface Engineering has provided you with additional information regarding
ventilation.
4. The sill or curb at the ovefiead door will exceed the 6" you request. Reducing the
curb height would require one of the following altematives:
a. Raising the Sidewalk Curb and Gutter and Parts of the Church Street
Paved Surface: This option has already been reviewed by our Civil
consultant and is deemed to be unacceptable to the City of Salem Public
Works Department.
~
