Ro[hweiler, AIA <br />ARBUCKLE COSTIC ARCHITECTS, INC. <br />363 State Street <br />Salem, OR 97301-3533 <br />503/581-4114 Fax: 503/581-3655 <br />E-Mail: acarchCopen.org <br />It has come to our attentio~ that two of the tile types listed in the above refeRed specification section~ may not <br />meet the requirements of the "BUY AMERICA" provision types'D' and'E' lnciuded in the construdion contract. <br />The particu~ar tile types in question are a 12" x 12" and a 16" x 16", by 3/8" thick, ~le consispng of 9596 marble <br />chlps and 596 resin bonding materiaL ' <br />The surtaces in the project for which these ~le types are designated are in.the main floor lo <br />elevator lobbies above the graund floor, in the highest traf~c areas in the building. The surtac~in question <br />inciude floor areas where the 12" x 12"•t~le type is used and wainscoted wall areas where me 16" x 16" ~le type <br />is used. These ti~e types Were selected~ for these areas for the following reasons: <br />1. These high traffic areas require finishes which are Iong wearing and abuse resistant. <br />2.
