EUGENE, OR 97402-9594 <br />(541)461-0543 FAX 461-0545 <br />David Hartwig May 27, 1997 <br />MARION COUNTY <br />100 High St. N.E. <br />Salem, OR 97301 <br />RE: DEMOLITION; SALEM COURTHOUSE SQUARE <br />Dear Mr. Hartwig: <br />Listed below are submittals as required in Section 01010, 1.1 and 1.4.D., <br />and Section 1313, 1.1.8., and 1.1.9.D. of the contract Specifications. <br />01010; 1.1 and 1.4.D. Shoring For Basement Walls To Remain In Place <br />Concrete basement walls to remain in place, subsequent to demolition, will <br />be adequately shored to prevent movement utilizing crushed concrete and <br />brick from on site demolition material. Lateral resistance required to prevent <br />movement or collapse will be calculated by Dennis McGee Engineering of <br />Corvallis, OR. McGee Engineering will inspect all basement walls to remain <br />and provide an engineered, stamped shoring plan by June 16, 1997 for <br />Marion County review and approval. It is anticipated that implementation of <br />the shoring plan will not needed until July 1, 1997, providing ample time for <br />review and approval. <br />1313; 1.1.8 Evidence Of Transportation And Disposal Permits <br />Transportation and disposal permits for demolition debris or other solid waste <br />are not required by local, state or federal regulation. No submittal is <br />necessary for this item. <br />1313: 1.1.9.D. Erosion Control Plan <br />No excavations , embankments, stockpiles or haul roads will be implemented <br />on this project. Work will be perfs~rmed during June, July and August 1997 <br />virtually eliminating possible rain water infiltration. In the event of rain <br />events, all surface run off will be contained within the project limits by <br />natural geography, preventing off site migration or entry to improved storm <br />systems.
