-? - VIII. Site Control~ The Staton Construction project supervisor will serve as saf ety officer for this project. The safety officer may request appropriate exposure monitoring be conducted by the project consultant. The safety officer will also be responsible for maintaining an orderly and saf e work area, and for assuring that all applicable health and safety rules are complied with. The safety officer will require that any health or safety hazard brought to their attention be corrected immediately, and has the authority to stop all site work if a significant hazard is detected. • The job site will be adequately delineated by hazard tape, ~ cones, barriers,:and/or f encing to prevent unauthorizad persons or vehicles from entering the work area. If work extends more than one day, all~excavations, other potential hazards, or potential "attractive nuisances", will be securely enclosed within fencing. Appropriate warnings will be displayed around the perimeter of the secured area. IX. Decontamination Procedures: All protective equipment will be removed at the end of work activity, and before leaving the work area. Dispasable equipment will be discarded. Non-disposable equipment will be decontaminated by washing/scrubbing with detergent solution, and then triple rinsing with water. Workers will wash their hands at the end of work, or before eating, smoking, drinking or using bathroom facilities (decontamination water and detergent will be available on-site). Any contaminated soils on excavation equipment, and vehicles, will be removed as required by project specifications. X. Emergency Procedures: The primary emergency situations anticipated have been discussed in Section III. Workers will be able to communicate, by voice, any emergency situation which develops. Workers whose skin comes, or is suspected of having come, in contact with potential contaminants will be immediately decontaminated (detergent and water). ~~
