-? - <br />VIII. Site Control~ <br />The Staton Construction project supervisor will serve as saf ety <br />officer for this project. The safety officer may request <br />appropriate exposure monitoring be conducted by the project <br />consultant. The safety officer will also be responsible for <br />maintaining an orderly and saf e work area, and for assuring <br />that all applicable health and safety rules are complied with. <br />The safety officer will require that any health or safety <br />hazard brought to their attention be corrected immediately, and <br />has the authority to stop all site work if a significant hazard <br />is detected. • <br />The job site will be adequately delineated by hazard tape, ~ <br />cones, barriers,:and/or f encing to prevent unauthorizad persons <br />or vehicles from entering the work area. If work extends more <br />than one day, all~excavations, other potential hazards, or <br />potential "attractive nuisances", will be securely enclosed <br />within fencing. Appropriate warnings will be displayed around <br />the perimeter of the secured area. <br />IX. Decontamination Procedures: <br />All protective equipment will be removed at the end of work <br />activity, and before leaving the work area. Dispasable <br />equipment will be discarded. Non-disposable equipment will be <br />decontaminated by washing/scrubbing with detergent solution, <br />and then triple rinsing with water. Workers will wash their <br />hands at the end of work, or before eating, smoking, drinking <br />or using bathroom facilities (decontamination water and <br />detergent will be available on-site). <br />Any contaminated soils on excavation equipment, and vehicles, <br />will be removed as required by project specifications. <br />X. Emergency Procedures: The primary emergency situations <br />anticipated have been discussed in Section III. <br />Workers will be able to communicate, by voice, any emergency <br />situation which develops. <br />Workers whose skin comes, or is suspected of having come, in <br />contact with potential contaminants will be immediately <br />decontaminated (detergent and water). ~~ <br />
