A <br />. <br />.- <br />BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMIVIISSIONERS <br />FOR MARION COUNTY, OREGON <br />In the matter of declaring the County's ) <br />urtent to reimburse itself from the proceeds ) <br />of certain tax-exempt .obligations for ) <br />project expenditures paid prior to the ) <br />issuance of such obligations. ) <br />RESOLUTIO ~ - ~ O ~ <br />WHEREAS, Marion County, Oregon (the "Count}~') intends to borrow money and <br />issue tax-exempt obligations (the "Obligations") in an aggregate principal amount that the <br />County currently estimates will not exceed the sum of $22,000,000, all in order ~to finance the <br />design, acquisition, construction and installation of the following capital projects (collectively, <br />the "Projects"): the Courthouse Square project, a joint project among the County, the Salem- <br />Keizer Transit District and a private developer to consist of County administrative offices, a <br />transit mall, parking facilities and c:ommercial office and retail space; an archives building to <br />house County records; and a new office and administration building for the County Department <br />of Public Works; and <br />WHEREAS, the County has incurred, or will incur in the future, preliminary <br />expenditures relating to the design, planning and feasibility of the Projects, all within the <br />meaning of Treasury Regulations § 1:150-2, and will continue to incur from time to time <br />additional costs of acquiring, constructing and insta((ing the Projects, including the costs of <br />acquiring and preparing the real property upon which certain of the Projects are to be located <br />
