I believe that as commissioner, you
had and continue to have the respansibility of oversight in this matter. Perhaps adequate
oversight was no# given #o #his project, but it is not too late to remedy the situation:
Please stop this praject now. Ctear the slate by removing Anderson-Wyckoff, Randy Curtis,
and the Portland-based management #irm which replaced Frey. ~ight any #urthar claims for
services rendered by any of thesa parties untit a full accounting is giuen and approved by a
non-biased (re~d: ones who do r~ot star~d to gain) group appoin#ed to stUdy the lega! IiabiGty o#
the project to pay #or any mora ccrosulting fees, raises, bonuses, and commissions. Try to
recover all aF #he $300,D~0. paid to ~an Berrey; aa1 of ##~e additional sa~ary and bonus' paid to
Berrey, Frey and Anderson-Wyckoff and Curtis.
Then appoint a new public board a# experts (each member of which rnust be #ree of any
financial ties #o the project, is., no teal estate developers) to examine the down-scaled project
anr~ determine its viabiiity. Then you will havs a big job tv re-seti this to taxpayers. It is not a
bad idea, but it was entrusted to the wrong players.
1 urge the Transit Board ta replace Anderson-1A/yckoff, ar~d tfi~e Coun#y to examine whether
Curtis's raise and bonus were legal (if #hey were not, recover them too).
..Sincerely,
Pat~icia Anderson
