BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR MARION COUNTY, OREGON <br />In the matter of authorizing) <br />the Director of General Services ) <br />to proceed with the Courthouse ) <br />Square Project <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />This matter came before the Marion County Board of Commissioners at <br />a regular public meeting on August 21, 1996, fo consider authorizing the <br />Director of General Services to proceed with the Courthouse Square Project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on <br />August 21, 1996, and considered all of the testimony and evidence presented <br />by officials of Marion County and the Salem Area Transit District, by the project <br />coordinator, by the project architect, by the county financial advisors and by <br />members of the public; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that the Courthouse <br />Square Project is financially feasible, based on the information available at this <br />time, and is in the public interest; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes <br />the Director of General Services to undertake the following: <br />to proceed with negotiations on the purchase of the three Senator Block <br />parcels in private ownership; <br />2. to affirm for the Salem Area Transit District and the FTA that Marion <br />County is committed to proceed with the Courthouse Square Project under the <br />terms of an interim intergovernmental agreement, which is hereby approved; <br />
