GI~`~" This matter came before the Marion County Board of Commis- sioners at a regular public meeting on August 21, 1996, to consider authorizing the Director of General Services to proceed with the Courthouse Square Project; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on August 21, 1996, and considered all of the testimony and evidence presented by officials of Marion County and the Salem Area Transit District, by the project coordinator, by the project architect, by the county financial advisors and by members of the public; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that the Court- house Square Project is financially feasible, based on the information available at this time, and is in the public interest; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Director of General Services to undertake the following: l. to proceed with negotiations on the purchase of the three Senator Block parcels in private ownership;
