Before the Board of Commissioners <br />For Marion County, Oregon <br />In the matter of accepting) <br />deeds for three parcels in) <br />the 500 block of Court St.) <br />NE, and authorizing the) <br />Director of General Services) <br />to sign the escrow documents) <br />and make payment for said ) <br />properties as part of the) <br />Courthouse Square project) <br />Resolution~~~~3' ` <br />This matter comes before the Marion County Board of Commissioners at a regulaz public <br />meeting on October 30, 1996; to consider the acceptance of deeds for the Goldberg, Liu and <br />Goodman-Cherrier properties located at 545-547, 551-563 and 525 Court St. NE, Salem Oregon. <br />WHEREAS, the Board on August 21, 1996, has previously authorized the Director of General <br />Services to proceed with the purchase of the three a-fore-mentioned properties necessary to <br />construct the Courthouse Square project, and <br />WHEREAS, appraisals have been conducted on the three properties in accordance with Federal <br />Regulations 49 CFR, Part 49, and offers have been submitted and accepted in accordance with <br />said appraisals, and <br />WHEREAS, the negotiated purchase price of the three parcels has been established at $330,000 <br />for the Goldberg property, $405,000 for the Liu property and $190,000 for the Goodman- <br />Cherrier property plus related administrative, environmental and closing costs, and <br />WHEREAS, the closing dates for the purchase of the three a-fore-mentioned properties is <br />between October 31, 1996 and November 29, 1996, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the Director of General Services to make the necessary <br />payments and sign the escrow documents related to said transactions; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the acceptance of said <br />deeds in the name of Marion County and the Director of General Services is further authorized to <br />make payments and sign all necessary documents to complete said transactions on behalf of the <br />Board of Commissioners. <br />
