To date, the City has received $187,500. The
Commissioners recently decided to suspend sending further lottery dollar funds for
the park until the City completes some re-design work for the final park
improvements and the Commissioners agree to help fund those improvements.
The City will not nEed the County lottery funds until approximately the spring
of 2001. By that time, the City Council should have approved final construction
plans for the final park improvements. This would mean that the County could
allocate the lottery dollars to other needed projects for 1999 and 2000.
The City appreciates the County's support of this important park, and we will
share the new park improvement plans with you once they are developed. At that
time, we will formally ask for your further contribution of lottery dollars to help us
pay for those park improvements.
Sin rely,
.
ike Swaim
Mayor
EXHIBIT 4
-- AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYE
