* Membership: Each subcommittee will contain 8-15 members. Two members of each subcommittee will also serve on Facility Steering Committee. * Staff Support: Support to subcommittees will be provided by staff from Ihe departments who serve the 7 program areas. Marcli 94 * Kickoff: A public presentation will be made to the Board of Commissioners on March 9th. The presentation will summarize the Consultants (WEGroup) report, outline time lines, issues, review process, and solicit citizen/staff involvement. * Information and Support: Presentations will be made to employees. Regular updates will be reported in the "Visions Newsletter". Reports will also be made at monthly CommunityBoard meetings and other public settings. Other affected governmental agencies will also be informed as needed. * Community Interest: The Board, in conjunction with an interim staff committee, will identify potential committee members. * Fublic Information: News media will be infornted regularly. Discussions will take place with daily and weekly newspaper reporters and editorial boards. Electronic media interviews will be pursued via news releases. Anril 94 * Committee Appointments: The Board receives recommendations from staff and other interest groups regarding appointments to Steering Committee and six subcommittees. * Orientarion: A workshop will be scheduled for all committee participants. The workshop will provide participan[s with an understanding of their commi[tee responsibilities, schedules, and background data. Committee members will also be given an opportunity to give feedback on the citizen/staff review process. * Committee OperaUoas: Committee meeting dates, chair/facilitation, and staff support roles will be defined. Mav-Seatember 94 * Final Report: Committees will review data, space needs, cost op[ions, service levels and growth criteria. Status reports will be provided to steering committee, other in[eres[ groups, and news media. A final recommendation will be [ransmi[ted to the Board by September 1994. The recommendation(s) will include a st*ategy for providing new, remodeled or leased facilities, a proposed time schedule, financing plans and supporting documentation (needs assessment).
