Space is not adequate for pog Control
Department at present time and space is needed by the Health
Department. If the department added staff would not have
room for them.
Jail Site - Considered building a new shelter close to the
jail site on Aumsville Highway. Use of inmate labor looked
at to make it cost effective. After looking at advantages
and.disadvantages this option was put aside.
Renting Office Space - Looked at the option of renting
office space in some other location. Because of the need of
secure parking and storage of county vehicles this idea was
tabled.
Building of-fice space and secure area for vehicles - The
option of purchasing a 15 acre site and building a office
area next to the Humane Society of the Willamette valley was
considered and chosen as the best option. This would
provide a more efficient option by putting us in a position
of taking over the collection of impoundment and board fees
for the dogs we impound. Also being able to deal directly
with the dog owners whose dogs are impounded with out them
traveling a long distance.
Consolidating with an other Department - Possibility of two
or more small departments working together to provide backup
in office etc.
6.
