The minutes were then approved.
CONTINUATION OF DOG CONTROL FINAL REPORT:
Ralph continued with the Dog Control presentation. He noted that,
although questions about last week's presentation were to be faxed to
him by Monday, he didn't receive any. He then asked Randy to present
the information he gathered on parcels of land near to the Humane
Society location.
Randy ~stated that based upon the square footage that the Dog Control
subcommittee has recommended, the building cost will be about
$315,000. Randy contacted the Assessor's office and had them do
some research. Sewer and water is being brought into the prospective
area, and in the near future the Humane Society will be required to hook
up with a partnership between the Humane Society and the City on the
initial funding of a water line. There is also some funding that will come
up in the future on the seinrer line. If the area has sewer and water
available, the land cost will be approximately $35,000 an acre. Although
the subcommittee's report cited a need for 15 acres, since there will not
be a kennel constructed there, a figure of 4-5 acres is more likely.
Ralph responded that a main concern is that there be enough room for
a secured area for the Dog Control vehicles. At present, the vehicles are
stored off-site (i.e., at employee's homes and at the Health building) and
