If the new juvenile faciity is developed, the department will experience substantial <br />increases in its operational costs. For example, with the completion of the new facility, the <br />county's juvenile detention costs (currently approximately $1.3 million per year) are projected <br />to increase to approximately $3 million per yeaz.
