SURVEY OF COUNTY COURT COSTS <br />Mazch 6, 1998 <br />Marion County <br />Courts occupy 46,164 square feet. Mazion Counry charges the General fund between $0.74 <br />$0.815 for Court occupied space. If needed cost can be provided for maintaining Courts. <br />Benton County <br />Courts occupy 24, 000 squaze feet. Benton County uses a uniform rental rate of $0.865 for all <br />departments, this does not include capital improvement costs. They do not include the Courts <br />squaze footage in the rental formula. There is no cost allocated to maintain the courts space and <br />they do not track that cost. - <br />Linn County <br />Courts occupy 17,255 squaze feet. Linn County receives a lump sum for maintaining their <br />facilities. The Courts aze allocated $154,600.00. Linn County does not chazge the courts for any <br />work requested that is over and above the normal maintenance work. They aze the only counry <br />that does not charge user fees to their courts. <br />Yamhill County <br />Courts occupy 19,500 squaze feet Yamlull County use a unifornt annual rental rate of $5.04 for <br />all departments excluding Courts and the Jail. They receive $350k from the General fund and <br />this covers costs for the courts. -- <br />Lane County <br />Courts occupy 85,000 squaze feet. Lane County receives their funds from the General fund, this <br />is called indirect funding.
