ATTACHMENT ~ <br />SAIEM AREA MASS <br />tr~ns~$ de~trec~ - <br />(503} 588-6213 <br />216 High St. N.E. ~ Salem, Orego~ 97301 <br />. <br />September 23, 1982 ~ <br />MEMO T0: Board of Directors <br />FROM: Gordon Aoyagi, General Manager <br />SUBJECT: HI~H STREET TRANSFER POINT <br />Attached is th e City's report regarding the proposed transfer point on High <br />Street between State and Court. <br />In summary, City staff is recommending the location of the bus transfer point <br />on High Street between State and Court. In addition, City staff has indicated <br />that the $741,000 of voter-approved bonds for transit-related weather protection <br />can be utilized for the development of this project. Approximately $41,000 would <br />be needed for traffic signalization and signal actualization devices for the buses. <br />The remainder of the $100,000 would be utilized by tfie District to develop a <br />central platform and weather protection. The District wo uld have to provide <br />design and engineering funds for the development of this project. <br />Th? plans were reviewed by the Downtown Development Board. The Board recommended <br />approval of the proposed transfer point with the following conditions: <br />a. That no buses be parked on High Street as the ext ra bus or emergency <br />bus. <br />b.
