Advertisement - Request for Bids <br />Sealed Request for Bids for " PRE-CONSTRUCTION REMEDIAL ACTIVITIES" in <br />regards to the Courthouse Square Project, will be received by Alan Davidson, Marion County <br />Clerk, Courthouse, 100 High St. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301-3670, unti13:00 PM Friday, <br />September 22, 1997, and then will be publicly opened and read in Conference Room "B", Sth <br />Floor, Marion County Courthouse 100 High St. NE, Salem, Oregon, 97301. Each bid shall be <br />submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked with the project and the name and business <br />address of the contractor. <br />Bids received after the time set for opening will not be considered. Bids may not be withdrawn <br />after the time set for opening. <br />Attention is called to all provisions of the Oregon Revised Statutes - Chapter 279, Public <br />Contracts and Purchasing, Marion County Public Contract Rules, and Oregon Administrative <br />Rules. The Marion County Board of Commissioners is the local Public Contract Review Board. <br />No bid will be received or considered by the County unless the bid contains a statement by the <br />contractor as a part of its proposal that the provisions of ORS 279.350 or 40 U.S.C. 276a are to <br />be complied with. <br />No prequalification is required for this project. <br />No bid proposal will be considered unless accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check or <br />bid bond, payable to the Marion County Department of General Services for an amount at least <br />equal to ten percent (10%) of the aggregate amount of the bid proposal, which sum shall be <br />forfeited as fixed and liquidated damages should the bidder neglect or refuse to enter into a <br />contract and provide a suitable bond for the faithful performance of the work in the event the <br />contract is awarded to him. <br />Minority and disadvantaged businesses enterprises are encouraged to submit proposals. <br />A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on September 15, 1997 at 2:00 PM, Conference <br />Room "B" Sth Floor, Marion County Courthouse, 100 High St. NE, Salem, Oregon 97301. <br />Those interested in attending the pre-bid conference must make advance arrangements by <br />contacting Marion County Risk Management at (503)588-5294 no later that 5:00 PM September <br />11, 1997. <br />Specification packets may be obtained on September 5, 1997 by calling Marion County Risk <br />Management at 503-588-5294 for a packet to be mailed, or can be picked up at the risk <br />management office, 5th floor of the Marion County Courthouse, 100 High St. NE, Salem, <br />Oregon, 97301. <br />In compliance with ORS 279.029, contractors must state on their proposal whether they are a <br />resident or non-resident contractor. <br />
