« ~ <br />Information Sheet <br />Courthouse Square Pre-Construction Remedial Activities <br />********************************************************* <br />Marion County Department of Solid Waste <br />Acceptance Criteria for Fill Material <br />******************************************** <br />Fill Material will be accepted free of charge at the Browns Island <br />Demolition Landfill provided the materials meet the following <br />acceptance criteria: <br />l. Specific site locations for placement of the fill material shall be <br />approved by the County Engineer prior to disposal. Contractor <br />shall notify the County Engineer 24 hours in advance of delivery <br />of fill material. <br />2. The fill material shall be a natural surface soil consisting of rock, <br />sands, silts, clays, and organic matter in combination and free <br />from substances toxic to plant growth, noxious weeds, refuse, <br />metal, and other debris. <br />3. Fill material shall have no stones larger than 10" in diameter, and <br />will have to pass a visual inspection for quality by the site <br />operator or County Engineer. <br />4. No hazardous or petroleum contaminated soils will be accepted. <br />Note: Minor amounts of concrete and brick are acceptable. <br />
