Based on the review, it is
clear that 11 credits can be achieved. A total of 22 credits must be achieved to qualify for Bronze
certification.
Following is a list of the elements that may not support LEED, along with recommendations for
actions to obtain the indicated credit. Please review these items and determine if it is feasible to
make the necessary modifications to obtain the additional credits needed to make the building
eligible for LEED certification. Also, please bear in mind that this is a pilot project to test the
LEED program. We have the ability to suggest modifications to the requirements as long as they
meet the intent of the credit.
SUSTAINABLE SITE PLANNING
Bonus Credit 1: Alternative Fueling Facilities
Install refueling facilities for alternative-fuel vehicles that use, for example, electricity,
natural gas, or methanol/ethanol.
Include a recharging station on the drawings or in the specifications.
IMPROVING ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Credit 1: Energy Efficiency Level 1
Meet California's Title 241ighting requirements.
Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to assess compliance with California Title 24
requirements.
Credit 1: Energy Efficiency Level 2
Exceed the requirements of ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1 - 1989 and subsequent revisions "
Energy Efficient Design of New Buildings Except New Low-Rise Residential Buildings"
by 20% or more.
This can be achieved by installing high performance glazing and daylighting controls as
recommended by the PGE Earth Smart Program. Participating in the PGE Earth
Smart Program will also provide access to the DOE2 energy efficiency study, which
may facilitate the achievement of the following credit.
Bonus Credit 1: International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol
